Treating for Emerald Ash Borer

March 10, 2010 filed under General »Arbor Care
Emerald Ash Borer has been destroying trees in Michigan since 2002.  The fact is, the Emerald Ash Borer is responsible for the death of over 20 million trees in Michigan.  The borer is now within 70 miles, with infestations in eastern Ohio along Lake Erie and in Mercer County, PA.

Because this pest is such a threat, our arbor care team is prepared to treat our ash trees with a preventative insecticide to keep our trees safe and strong.  The borer attacks the vascular system of the plant, affecting the tissues that uptake water and nutrients.  The best way to combat this is with a systemic, an insecticide right in the plant.  We have an arbor jet system that injects the insecticide right into the plant.  Low contact exposure creates safety for people and pets and puts the insecticide where its needed.

This preventative measure is good for two years.  We suggest using a professional to effectively treat your trees. Independent University tests have proven that Arborjet's injected formulations provide maximum control. If you have valuable or important ash trees, contact us to implement a prevention program for their preservation!
